Recap: Part 1 Leaving and Settling in

Some may say that I'm a little overdue in writing a blog.  I would agree.

The reason for this statement would be because I have been living in Jerusalem since last August, and unfortunately, I have not been as good at documenting this trip to the public as my dad has been, as you can see in his blog: Huntsmans in the Holy Land, this is also where you can go if you would be interested in viewing in more detail about what I've been doing this year.

In my defense, I tried to blog on my dad's blog, but I kept forgetting to ask him if I could use his computer... so here's the link, it describes in more detail my first few days in Jerusalem and it also shows some of the pictures of my trip to Paris with my mom.

As for this blog though, I'll try to do a quick recap about what I've been up to.

So, my trip to Jerusalem was very interesting, we drove from our home to the Salt Lake Airport, flew from Salt Lake to Atlanta, then from Atlanta to Tel Aviv, then one of the usual bus drivers for the Jerusalem Center (where I live) picked us up to take us to the Jerusalem Center.
We had a ton of luggage to bring, each family member got their own color, those who know me and my favorite color can probably guess which luggage set is mine ;)

This is Hannah, when I boarded the plane, little did I know that just a few rows back, there would be a person that would become one of my best friends here in Jerusalem

The path which we traveled

I started to get quite homesick on the bus ride to the Jerusalem Center where we would be living for the next while, but I was so happy to see the familiar name of 'Brigham Young University'

The Jerusalem Center (or JC as it is fondly called) is one of the most beautiful buildings I have seen...

...But, it does have eight floors, and a LOT of stairs...

My first trip outside the center was really cool, it helped me realize how cool the city was that I was living in.
This was my first trip to my school, AISJ (the Anglican International School of Jerusalem), we had orientation soon after, but my family wanted to go early so my brother could get familiar with the school before all the people arrived.

The summer before I left Provo, I performed with the colorguard in my school's marching band, and band was one of the things I missed most about leaving.  Once they got on youtube, I watched the fall shows SO many times, and I was captivated.  I brought my silk (the fabric part of the flag for those of you less familiar with colorguard,) to Jerusalem with me, but I could not find a pole to fasten it to, so I did the next best thing and found a broom.  My make-shift flag wasn't balanced very well though...
